Great Day

Hello all. Today was an amazing day! It was great being able to worship with other believers. We are now settled in on the island. There are so many amazing people here. English camp starts tomorrow. Please be in prayer for the children who will be attending. There are 150 kids signed up and many have been turned away because of the lack of space to work with.
  • Remember the importance of praying in Jesus' name.

Philippians 2:10&11 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Revelation 5:11-14
11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,
12saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."
13And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."
14And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen " And the elders fell down and worshiped.

  • There is power in the name of Jesus! Believe it!

Mitch-

I am glad that you had a great day. Our pastor preached this morning on reaching the world. He used a map on the video that showed the number of Christians on a color coded basis with red being the fewest. You are in a red area.

Our church has developed a mission statement that is:

1. Know Christ
2. Love People
3. Tell The World

You are the finest example of this statement in action that I know.

Thanks for all you are doing for the cause of Christ in a foreign land.

Love ya brother.

hey Mitchell. Sunday just wasn't the same without you- but it's awesome that you're being so obedient to God through this trip. You're such a great example of a messenger of Christ. It's great to hear that the music is breaking the language barrier. It was that way when I went to Mexico too. Wish you could have been at the crawfish boil yesterday. We had an intense game of world ball LOL. hope the first day of english camp goes well

20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Hey Mitchell -

Just catching up on your posts this morning. What an awesome experience you're already having. We're praying for you bunches and will miss you at church. I am truly inspired and moved by your obedience to God to go to a hurting world to share the love of Christ. I know you'll probably find that you get as much from this trip if not more than you're giving to others. Also, what a great testimony this is to younger Christians, like Josh and Madison, as we share your journey with them daily.

Have a great and blessed day!!

Mitchell,

I was reading the book Called and Accountable by Henry Blackaby this morning and came across and interesting although cliche-ish comment. He stated in terms of our calling that God did not seek our talent and abilities but our hearts and our willingness. You have certianly given God your heart and willingness. I think God got a great deal because you brought talents and abilities as well. Stay the course, stay focused, you are in the belly of the beast. Satan will try as much as he can to disrupt the work but we will pray, you keep praying and God will bring the victory. What a wonderful place to see God's hand and I know He will use your willing heart and a great way.

Now to other business, so where are the dog recipes. I'm looking for something to do a good smoked poodle and maybe fido on a stick. You gotta hook a brother up.

Take care and we love ya man.

I'm glad everything's going great. English camp already sounds like it will be successful so I hope everything with it does go great! I'll be continuing to pray for y'all.

I was reading in Judges the other night, and I read Judges 13:18 “Why do you ask my name?” the angel of the Lord replied. “It is too wonderful for you to understand.”
It reminded me that if the angel of the Lord's name is so wonderful then how much more wonderful is the name of the Lord himself!

Hey Mitchell,
I am so excited at your obedience (and Matt's) but more so at God's desires for the two of you this summer. Knowing you, I have no doubt that you'll be the salt and light that so many need over there. Your dad shared about the chinese students and the music tonight at choir practice and also about you being in a "red" area on the map. Just know that you're being prayed for by so many. I'm praying for you and Matt and your mission daily. And as JD said, you're in belly of the beast, so be careful!
I also love reading the posts from your family and seeing how much y'all love each other and how open you are about it with each other. That is a huge witness all by itself.
Oh yea, do you need any hot sauce? Tasted any good ones? I know that area has got to have some crazy spices!!!! So get some good sauce names for me. We'll add them to the "man club" reportoire (okay so I can't spell) of sauces!!!!
Take care,
Ken

I am so proud of you Mitch. I want you to know that you are in our prayers every day & Sam and I pray for you every night. I pray that folks come to know the Lord through your ministry. That is my prayer along with your safe return home. Oh yeah, Sam wants more pictures!
