Mission Updated
Hello all!!
These past couple of weeks have been so crazy (awesome)! As soon as we arrived on the island we began preparing for the kids camp, it was great. Originally, there were only supposed to be 60 kids able to come to the camp, because of the limited space we are working with. We ended up with about 180! As soon as we finished the camp on Wed., we headed out for Ipoh.
We arrived in Ipoh around midnight and set everything up for the extreme condensed version of the kids camp we did on the island. The next day we had the camp from 9-3. After that, we had a presentation service for the parents at 8. Talk about a long day!
The very next day we headed out for another town (not sure about the spelling), where we set up to be through Sunday. We played pick-up games with some kids in the neighborhood. That was hilarious! The basketball court was smooth concrete and it had been raining. I think I busted about 5 times. It was all for the kids. On Sat we went to the old folks home. Also, you may not have known this and I didn't either, but Mitchell Shoumaker and Matthew James where in concert on Sat! LOL! It was great. It was really more like an evangelistic worship service. O, I forgot to tell you, on Friday, we started visitation at 9pm, which turned out to be quite an experience to say the least.
On Sunday we had a carnival for the kids in the morning and service in the afternoon.
The whole week was an experience I will never forget. God is good to us. He kept us going when we thought we couldn't. We are truly blessed to serve Him.
Funny Story!!
Last night we were walking back to the apartment and a fish skull pierced through the bottom of my foot. Ouch!! LOL! Please tell me what the odds are of someone getting a fish skull stuck through the bottom of their foot!
Anyway, thank you all for your prayers. I am feeling completely rested. Please continue to pray for our team. Everyone around us seems to be catching some sort of flu-like virus. One of the girls, Karen, is not doing well. Pray for her.
I love and miss you all. Have a wonderful Tuesday! I've already had mine, it was a great Tuesday. I hope you will take the time to enjoy it.
PS: Yes J.D., they do eat cat and dog. Feline on a stick and roasted rover comin right up!

Great pics, Mitchell.
Gives me a much better feel for the people you are working with. It's easy to see why the Lord wanted you on this mission, because those kids needed someone like you who would really love them, and show them the love of Jesus. And the picture with you and the kids make it real clear that you are the man for the job.
Way to go on that huge camp, and for giving it up for the kids on the slick basketball court. Been there, except I gave it up a dozen times on roller skates. The youth group thought it was hillarious. When you and Matt get back, we want M & M (Matt and Mitchell)in concert at JBC!
Thanks for posting and telling about your work. Don't know about that fish scull thing. That's kind of spooky, and painful, I'm sure. What part of the scull pierced your foot? Having a hard time picturing that.
Aunt Jan and Uncle Byram are traveling this week. They are flying to Venice on Thursday, and they will get on a big ship and cruise to Ephesus, Athens, and many of the places where Jesus and his disciples and Paul ministered.
Better run, keep up the awesome work.
I thank the Lord for you and pray that many boys and girls will ask Jesus into their heart this summer!!!
Love, Dad
Mitchell-
It is such a blessing to me to know how God is blessing your ministry.
(Notice that blessing can be a noun or a verb.)
Thanks for all you are doing and I look forward to your future postings.
Mitch -
How about feline fricassee or canine cacciatore. Bring us some recpies.
Perhaps Tabasco can make a positive impact after all. Any road kill cat will do, however. (I am sure you know I am just kidding.)
i misssss you!!!!!!
Those pics are awesome. The skull through the foot is something that would happen to - my luck. That is so awesome to hear about the kids camps. I will keep praying that you will continue to do a great work over there. Miss you alot bro. Pray for us we leave for World Changers Saturday.
